Levitazione

A volte lo spostamento di gravità era improvviso e migliaia di serpenti venivano colti di sorpresa. Essi, rimanendo tagliati fuori dalle Terre a Bassa Gravità, si attaccavano come potevano a qualsiasi appiglio per evitare di levitare fino alla Seconda Sfera. Se l'appiglio era un Uomo, frutto o belva che fosse, la sua agonia durava giorni. In genere finiva per essere scarnificato, oppure levitava lui stesso a seguito dei serpenti.

Nota: l'agonia era seguita a debita distanza dagli Uomini-Belva con grande ludibrio. Nel caso il malcapitato fosse un Uomo-Frutto, i suoi simili partecipi di dolore empatico, veneravano il martire ponendo statuette di argilla sul suo cammino, in una specie di processione al contrario. 

Sometimes the gravity shift was sudden and thousands of Snakes were taken by surprise. Remaining out of the Low Gravity Lands they grasped to any grip they could as to avoid levitating till the Second Sphere. If the hold was a Man, fruit or beast that was, his agony lasted for days. Generally he finished to have the flesh stripped off, or he levitated himself following the Snakes up.

Note: the agony was followed by the Beast-Men with great scorn. In the case the unfortunate was a Fruit-Man, his fellows, sharing the pain emphatically, venerated the martyr placing little statues along his way, in a sort of reverse procession.
